A native of Santa Fe, Mary Ellen Lopez is a welcomed addition to the Mountain Spirit Provider Team. She has been practicing medicine for almost 20 years, making it her life's mission to keep her community healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Mary Ellen is continuously innovating her services as a Primary Care Provider, including the introduction of Functional Medicine based services and treatments, including ALCAT Food Sensitivity & Methyl Detox Testing, and will soon have Vitamin B12 Injections available for energy, mood, sports performance and more. She is in the process of developing other Functional Medicine testing and treatments, and will make even more of these cutting edge integrative medical services available soon here at Mountain Spirit. DID YOU KNOW? Mary Ellen is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer, skilled in Sports Medicine. Sports Physicals are needed for kids and teens to play any athletics, often before tryouts. Prior to bringing her practice to Mountain Spirit, Mary Ellen provided care at Christus St. Vincent's Arroyo Chamiso Pediatric Clinic for 14 years. During that time, many people who began seeing her in childhood or adolescence have continued as her patients well into adulthood. Her approach is to provide quality care throughout life's journey. She makes meaningful time available for patient education to help each individual achieve their personal health goals.
Mary Ellen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, 3 children, and grandchildren. She taught exercise classes for 8 years in the community and has also trained fitness professionals in New Mexico and other Southwestern states. Mary Ellen values the importance of keeping our whole bodies healthy with nutrition and exercise. She would love to help you get your body back into good health, or help you maintain your current wellness.
